Social Security Disability Application Status:

It is easy to check the status of your Social Security Disability application online. You just need your social security number and the confirmation number that you were given when you turned in your Social Security Disability Application.

Social Security Disability Application Status Information: https://www.ssa.gov/claimstatus/

The online tool will provide you with the following information:

  • The date your application was received by the Social Security Administration (SSA),
  • Any additional documents that the SSA has requested from you;
  • The address of the local SSA office that is processing your application; and
  • Whether a decision has been made for your claim.

SSI Application Status:

While you can check the status of your Social Security Disability Application online (SSD / SSDI), you will not be able to use this tool to look up the status of a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) application.

To check the status of your SSI application, call 1-800-772-1213.  You may also contact your local Social Security office.  Find your local Social Security office: https://secure.ssa.gov/ICON/main.jsp
